Aside from serving as Secretary for N.E.O. SOUND, Nicholas Sohutskay is active as a composer, a horn player, and a teacher. He currently serves part-time as professor in the music theory department at The University of Akron. His music has been performed by the Kent Brass Quintet, the Kent State University Wind Ensemble, and other talented local musicians. Sohutskay is an avid promoter of contemporary music and as a performer delights in playing new pieces, especially unaccompanied works. He has been featured as a soloist on the Kent State University New Music Series, at the University of Akron New Music Festival, and with the Kent/Blossom Sinfonietta. Sohutskay earned a Master of Music in Horn Performance from The University of Akron, as well as a Master of the Arts in Composition and a Bachelor of Music in Composition from Kent State University.
